Traquair House Easter Eggstravaganza!  Sunday, April 16, 2017Grounds open 11.00am, with activities from midday. The Biggest egg hunt in the Borders and lots more fun activities all day.

Drumlanrig Castle – Tough Mudder.  17th & 18th June 2017.  Ever wondered what it’s like to get through a 10-12 mile mud and obstacle course? Or perhaps you’re back for another go at this team endurance experience? This event is not for the faint-hearted. New this year – you can run either the full or half on both days.

Spring Highlights at Dawyck Botanic Garden.  Spring comes late to Dawyck – its host of daffodils still in bud when in many parts of the country they are fading. Far from being a disadvantage, this is often a bonus for visitors during the Easter holidays, enabling those from other areas to enjoy spring flowers all over again.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST AT BIGGAR CORN EXCHANGE  Tuesday 6th – Saturday 10th December 2016.  A panto classic from Biggar Theatre Workshop

FREE CHRISTMAS OPENING AT TRAQUAIR HOUSE 26th & 27th November 2016.  A wonderful weekend of Christmas cheer at our FREE opening. With the house decorated in a Victorian Christmas style and craft stalls throughout the house this is a weekend for all ages. Local choirs and the Silver band will perform in the courtyard and chapel. Santa’s luxurious grotto in the house. Puppet shows,  Mulled wine, roasted chestnuts and home cooked lunches and teas in the 1745 Cottage Restaurant.


Dawyck Botanic Garden Dawyck is truly one of the world’s finest arboreta. Seasonal displays of abundant exotic and native plants provide a breathtaking backdrop of colour throughout the year. The Garden also offers an award-winning visitor centre. (Closed from 30th November until the 1st February).
