We have only been here one night so far and we love it.  This is our honeymoon and we absolutely made the right choice to stay here! The locals are very nice and the town of Biggar is just lovely. I’m a photographer in Chattanooga, TN, and have already have loads of fun taking pictures around here.  I will have to print out a few of my pictures for you to have and perhaps hang on your wall! Very interesting trying to figure out the different culture here, we love it so far. This is our last day in Biggar and we are very sad we have to leave tomorrow morning for America. We’ve been to Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle, Inverness, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London, Stonehenge and more! We have enjoyed the weather here and nice people. One Lady even gifted us a book from the gift store because in her words “we didn’t vote for Trump and believe in climate change”, as a wedding present. We are so sad to go back to America since we also found out our Scottish Heritage, tracing the McLure name all the way back to Clan MacLeod of Harris to the Isle of Skye. On my side of the family, my clan is MacNeil, we hope to live here one day in the home of our ancestors instead of the nasty melting pot that is America. Thank you so much for being so welcoming and accomodating, we hope to be back very soon!  Jarrod & McKenzie McLure, Tenessee, USA. 7 nights 3 nov ’17

Great fun here. There’s lots of things to do, lots of forests and fab location, we even found a secret rope swing! xx Robertson’s, Aberdeen. 7 nights 20 October ’17.

Convenient and clean!  A lovely cosy lodge with loads of room.  The beds were really comfortable.  The swing was good for 8 little children.  We were never bored.  We had a nice time climbing Tinto and going to M & D’s theme park.  The garden was big and just the right size for BBQ’s.  A very comfortable and welcoming lodge with such soft and cuddly beds.  The swing was probably the best!  There was even a nest with chicks in and we watched them grow older and older.  When we left they had even started flying.  we enjoyed the horse and chickens.  Merel family August 2015.

We had a wonderful experience in this beautiful farmhouse. This place is neat, cosy and warm. It is in a great location, close to Edinburgh and Glasgow. We got to see many castles and even went up to Loch Ness. We have 4 boys and they enjoyed the countryside, the sheep and cows. This is much different from what we are used to in the South of France. We didn’t get the pleasure to meet Joyce in person but we had a good contact by text messages. Can’t wait to come back here! Thanks for the experience.

Love from Six Fours, France. Sandrine xox

First stay at The New Farmhouse and it was fab! Great views from every window even though it rained! Will return in the summer as it was a great base in which to explore. As only a short visits we went to Edinburgh zoo with 3 kids, fab day out even though weather was mixed. Livingston was also great as we took family golfing (crazy) and did a little retail therapy at the same time. A big thank you from all of us!! Thank you for the great toys to play with!! I enjoyed the swing. Harry liked the sheep.
The McMichans, Yore. April 2015

Our first stay at The New Farmhouse and definitely not our last. Came with my husband for his birthday and our family and granddaughter. We had a fabulous time. There is absolutely nothing we would change. Beautifully clean, comfortable beds. Nice to have the bath as we could bathe our granddaughters we are 1 and 3 years old. Our dog loved it too. I have nothing negative to say. Joyce very friendly, she was only a phone call away should we need anything but we didn’t. Thank you Joyce for a lovely stay, definitely will return. Many thanks. Mr and Mrs White, Nottingham. Jan 2015

Had a fantastic weekend, many thanks. Shopping in Biggar excellent!! Wood burning stove brilliant and kept the lodge very warm and cosy. Shower in downstairs bathroom would make the stay even more enjoyable. We had arranged this weekend stay to celebrate family birthdays and we all had a fantastic time. Thank you so much. Hope we will come back again in the near future. The Rutherfords 21-23 Nov 2014.

Nice spacious cottage. Would reccomend the Barony restaurant in Biggar. New Lanark also well worth a visit and for those that appreciate good ale then the Broughton Brewery in Broughton is the place to go. Wood burner was great. 16-23 Aug 2014.

What a wonderful time we had! A real home from home with everything we needed to hand. Lovely comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, plenty of space and warmth when needed. Biggar is fantastic for shopping especially Hamilton’s butcher’s. Great quality meat, a friendly chat and tips on where to visit. Sainsbury’s and Co-op to hand. Deli has great choice of corizo and cheese if you fancy a treat. Try the ice cream parlour and waffles. FANTASTIC meal at the Barony, £19.95 for 3 courses, advise you book as very popular. Peebles has a good few shops and the County have fair priced meals; you have to eat to take under 18 children with you. We enjoyed exploring the area, local map in right hand chest of drawers. Visit to Loch Lomond and a 1 hr cruise worth doing – £39.50 for 4 adults. We went on fisrt cruise at 10.30 – it gets very busy from the 2nd tour on. Traquair house was fantastic. We spent a day there, food, drink reasonable or just an ice cream. New Lanark worth a visit, plenty to do and see and a lovely walk at the Clyde falls – £32.50 for 4 adults (over 16’s) Cafe on site, soup, snacks and salads. North Berwick, lovely beach, shops and a Seabird Centre – plenty for all. The big Red Barn – great tea and cake, only been open for a month. Weather has been interesting as “Bertha” visited but the log fire was easy to use and very warm. Small dental emergency: Biggar Dentist very helpful. Kwok, Chinese take away – yummy. How could we forget? Edinburgh Cstle excellent. Enjoyed the buzz of the Fringe and walking The Royal Mile. Garfunkels reaonable food. Did so much forgot the “big stuff”! We would love to visit again! Thank you Joyce and Robert, wonderful place, great people!! Tracy, Mark, Ben & Luke 2-16 Aug 2014

Lovely clean cabin in very peaceful surroundings. Enjoyed visits to New Lanark, Glasgow, Loch Lomond and Edinburgh plus many more palces while out exploring. Clyde Valley also well worth a visit and also Blackness Castle…the list is endless. Also, a lesson learned, if you see a sheep lying on its back, tip it the right way up as it will be stuck! Thanks.
